About

My name is Ashley Mitchell, president of the Christy Lynn Mitchell Foundation. My wife Christy lost her battle with an aggressive form of cancer on Dec 9th 2021. She was the bright shining light of our lives and had a dream of one day running a charitable foundation to support worthy causes and charities. So, with the help of Lori Cochrane & Ashley Thompson, I started the Christy Lynn Mitchell Foundation. Christy lived the kind of life where she gave of herself to friends and family, made new friends wherever she went, volunteered in the community, sought out and donated to worthy charities. She spread joy by living compassionately and improved people’s lives. We honor her life by rewarding worthy students college scholarships in the hope they will make our world a better place through their kindness.

The Christy Lynn Mitchell Foundation's primary pursuit is to provide college bound seniors with scholarship opportunities. We award students who exemplify a life of kindness and compassion. We ask that the student be recognized and nominated by a member of the school faculty within the schools where we have programs. After nomination, the student may apply for the scholarship and submit an essay addressing what living a compassionate life means to them, and how it will translate into the goals they have set for themselves in the future. This scholarship does not have an academic requirement. Financial need will be considered, however it is not required. We ask that the teachers consider students who are not necessarily publicly recognized in other pursuits. The ones more concerned with helping, supporting and encouraging others.
